Delta's first album is still her best, in my opinion. The songs are fresh and original and her voice is simply superb. If you only buy one Delta CD, make it this one.

Mind you the others are good too, so if you like this one sample her others. February 2, 2008

The first time I listened to Delta Goodrem was in a trip to the UK on TV, the video was I Am Lost Without You. I loved the song. It is actually included in this album. I finally made the decision to actually purchase one of her albums and I can proudly say that I made a very good decision. Her voice is candid but powerful, the songs she sings are catchy but still elegant. I believe she is a true artist, one that is mostly recognized in Europe but perhaps not so known in the US, which is unfortunate. I would love to go to one of her concerts if she starts touring in the US. If you can, buy this product and you will not regret it. January 24, 2008

I purchased this cd from Amazon and the edition I received is actually an Australian edition. The bonus DVD includes the videos for "Born to Try," and "Lost Without You" as well as "Born to Try" live (recorded in/on a studio/set), and some behind the scenes footage of Ms.goodrem.(basically short "the makings of" the two videos and some clips from when she was in London).

For the price, 10.99, this is a great cd/dvd package. (as Amazon seems to sell other editions from 16.99-19.99-to 20 something dollars, and this edition has the bonus dvd that others don't seem to include)

For those of you wondering if the dvd will play- as it is in PAL format-It played fine on my computer's dvd player-so I think it will probably play on most dvd players.

As other reviewers have mentioned, Ms. Goodrem has a beautiful voice. However if you like more upbeat pop. You should buy her second album "mistaken identity" as the songs are a little more upbeat (and she shows more range). This album is good but most (ok..basically all) of the songs are ballads. (a few of the songs sound similar)

Also, if you're thinking about buying this album I would note that its very much "straight" pop with some occasional alt. cont. leanings... it definitely does not have an R&B edge. Also besides 5 or 6 standout songs (born to try, innocent eyes, etc..)the production on this album can feel somewhat bland and sometimes a little overpowering...

Ms.Goodrem has a good voice, however she does not have the most distinctive voice, (as compared to other pop singers such as Kelly Clarkson, Leann Rimes, or Monica) but her voice is very pleasant, fairly strong, and you have to give her credit for choosing the songs that best compliment her voice. She co/wrote or wrote many of the songs herself.

Good cd. However if you like your pop with more edge I would go with her second album. I would also recommend Kelly Clarkson, Rachel Stevens, Nelly Furtado, or Sugababes.
