About DJ Jazzy Jeff - Hip Hop Forever, Vol. 2

The incredible DJ Jazzy Jeff presents the second installment of one of the best loved hip hop compilations of all time. The legendary first volume of Hip Hop Forever was mixed by Kenny Dope of Masters At Work fame and now DJ Jazzy Jeff is set to raise the bar with his star-studded collection. Classic hip hop, hard to find jams and new favorites are all represented and mixed as only DJ Jazzy Jeff can. Hip Hop Forever has commanded respect from hip hop heads old and new, the series’ UK launch party in 1998 was hosted by hip hop legends Marley Marl and Pete Rock.

After releasing his amazing artist album The Magnificent in 2002, it was inevitable that we would present to the world DJ Jazzy Jeff’s first official mix CD. Those of you who saw DJ Premier, Grandmaster Flash, Kid Capri and DJ Jazzy Jeff’s tribute to Jam Master Jay at the BET awards last year will remember how Jeff received a standing ovation. It is this uncanny ability to move a crowd coupled with unprecedented turntable wizardry that is captured on volume two of Hip Hop Forever.

For the collectors, this very special installation of Hip Hop Forever will be available as a mixed full-length CD as well as in limited edition, un-mixed 2xCD. Regardless of which format you choose, sit back and enjoy a fine mix by possible the greatest hip hop DJ of all time. A great mix of old, new, classic and fine obscurities from artists including: Nas, Raekwon, Cypress Hill, Pete Rock, Gang Starr, A Tribe Called Quest and Jaylib. Album Description

If you are new to hip hop music or just wanting a great hip hop compilation, this LP is highly recommended. These are essential artists/songs to check out. Especially, when ya have one of the illest DJ's mixin' & chopin' it up. April 1, 2006

Jazzy Jeff has long been my favorite DJ. I've been following his work since '86 and it does my heart good to hear cats like Jeff still tearing it up. The tracks all range from the early to mid 90's and includes various bangers and some of them are pretty obscure like the "Can't Stop The Prophet" Pete Rock remix or O.C's classic "Times Up". I really don't have to go into much detail. Just look at the track listing, it speaks for itself. You already know how Jeff flawlessly blends tracks, so the rest is a no brainer.

The only flaw (if you can call it that) I could find on the album was the fact that some of the songs were censored (like "Made U Look"). It was a small distraction, but a distraction nevertheless.

Hip Hop Forever Vol. II is more than worth owning. If you haven't heard it by now, quit cheating yourself and buy it. Jeff has been my favorite since day 1 and he has yet to let me down.

Standout Tracks: Electric Relaxation, How Many Emcees (My Favorite), Times Up, Buck 'Em Down (Beatminerz Remix), Braggin' Writes, Made U Look, Square One, Can't Stop The Prophet (Pete Rock Remix), Live At The BBQ, and Words I Manifest July 27, 2005

Excellent comp from J the man who invented transformer scratching. As well as a first class line up the mixing in this is second to none. Never heard scrathing this mad on a CD.

The man deserves twice as much acclaim compared to Will Smith as he isnt a sell out and keeps it real.

By this CD and get educated!!!! May 9, 2005
