Superbly assembled twelve track CD release of Aerosmith's personal tribute to their choice of the most influential (and most important) blues performers of all time. At first I assumed this was a live CD, but it's probably just as well that it's not. Production is top notch here. Tunes I could barely get enough of are the Bo Diddley staple, the {always} foot-stomping "Road Runner", "Shame Shame Shame", "Baby, Please Don't Go", Willie Dixon's "I'm Ready" and "Stop Messin' Around". Has barely been out of my CD player since I got it. Recommended. July 15, 2008

Did not know anything about this album until I saw a bikini advertisement using "Never Knew A Girl". Each song is classic blues set reset to the Aerosmith style of rock n roll. I think Tyler outdoes himself on each tune with lots of emotion thrown into each song. Found myself playing this record over and over again as I worked on the computer.

Must have for Aeromsith fans in my opionion March 18, 2008

My mantra's usually been that once a group starts doing whole albums of covers, they've run out of ideas.

I'm eating my word with Honkin On Bobo. This album is Aerosmith playing the music that kicked off rock and roll and where the likes of Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendix, Rolling Stones, AC/DC etc etc drew their inspirations; ie the blues or as Keef Richards would say "der bloos."

The likes of Muddy Waters, Jimmy Reed, Willie Dixon are covered with reverance and oh, so well.

What really brings home to me on listening to this, is what terrific musicians Aerosmith are and they're as tight as a drum. One of the best rock bands ever to come out of the US.

The best Aerosmith in years. Maybe they just took a break from all the top forty ambitions and record company demands to pay respect to the blues? I don't know? But I do know that this is a pure, honest album thats not over produced. You can sense that they enjoyed doing this and I for one am glad that they did. It restores my faith in a band that I started listening to back in the days of "toys in the attic" and "rocks". October 13, 2007

I love the bluesy feel to the album, steven tyler keeps his trademark sqeals over a more blues style riffs. October 7, 2007
