Live at the Fillmore but just as sweet now as then.
Smooth & quick purchase.
February 5, 2008I have been a fan since I was 16. I still play her albums and recently purchased this cd. It is evocative, lovely and touches me everytime I hear it. Just her magnificent voice and piano.....it's the best.
January 10, 2008Not having the opportunity to see Laura Nyro in concert in the 1970's; this cd is as close as I'll ever get, musically. To anyone who loves beautiful music and poetry, it doesn't get any better. Some of the recording is not the best quality; but I'm happy this music was saved. I love it!
September 8, 2007For the serious collector, EVERY piece of music written or recorded by Ms. Nyro is A MUST!! Here, one must place themselves in the body of almost any northeast coast person at this concert - having owned Laura Nyro records from High School through college. This is like a serenade to them, a huge living room, with only Laura singing the music/melodies they know by heart and love, as they sit back, squirm with excitement and listen. If ever musical artist adoration can come through your speakers and translate into your emotional being.........then certainly it happens with the audience here. Even though I grew up in the deep southeast, I have been "getting it" with her music for a very long time! She is timeless and as pure of a musical writer/performer as their will ever be!
July 29, 2007It is rare that you can feel so close to a performer as you can with Laura Nyro. Her Spirit is right there in the moment, so real. I don't usually prefer "live" performances but this one is very special. Just Laura and her piano, a little rough at times. Check out some sample songs to see if this works for you.
