I like rock music but somehow these guys were not on my radar, but I saw them perform at venue in MD since I am from Baltimore. And I must say that I felt embarrrrrrassed because I consider myself a lover and fan of everything dealing with music but I did not even know about these guys. I knew of The Vines and that's what I thought when I went to the venue, "Maybe it is a Type-O". To make a long story short after the venue was over I was blown away, there live performance and showman-ship was LIKE THAT and so I made it a point to purchase every album that they ever put out. rating: 5 Do you like good music? Then get this album.
I saw their performance of Walk Idiot Walk on the Letterman show, and i was thoroughly impressed with their rocking, i thought the hives were like a mix of the Kinks and the Rolling Stones. The more i listen to the hives the more I love them, the rhythms and lyrics are infectious, and the performances impressive.
Very few bands of the Oughties rock as hard as the Hives.
If you're sick of wuss rock, get this album and believe in rock and roll again.
highlights include: Walk idiot walk (of course), B for Brutus, A little more for a little you, and No Pun Intended February 13, 2008

I picked up this Hives album; and I had a chance to listen in depth now; I must say, its quite infectious. THe most readily listenable thing on there is two timing touch- and thenthe other songs grow on you more slowly.

At times there is a digital quality to the punk music here; a ratcheted up drum quality; there is some really catchy frenetic quality to it; and although there isn't remotely the depth or tonal quality of say, the Strokes, its still fantastic and a must have for your New millenium sort-a-punk CD collection January 6, 2008

rating: 4 Dude it's a Manic Episode!
To mania or not to mania, that is the question! Yes my fellow punk rockers "The Hives" rocks a** and if you simply disgree with my opinion i advise you to listen to one of their tracks, just make sure you have your speakers turned high, and i assure you if you don't feel like there is a bubbly Tyrannosaurus hopping with you, just try to jump & fly! Yes everybody it's a rockin punkin album, and those lyrics,i don't know where on earth do they come up with such disoriented lyrics, but i know when you're feeling low and you want to hyper your senses, just play this album. I mean after Franz Ferdinand's "take me out", i thought they'll never be a good punk rock song but then i heard The Hives'"Two-Timing Touch and Broken Bones" and I'm like, wait, what was that? then came "Walk Idiot Walk" and I was like,no wait, seriously what was that?? Then I bought the album and thought this is pure mania, like awesome music you maniacs, ditch the lithium, get The Hives. Batteries not included... February 11, 2007

rating: 4 Picking Up Where The Hives Left Off
Even though i'm no expert, this expert's professional opinion is that "Tyrannosaurus Hives" makes a worthy follow-up to it's predecessor (and smash-hit) "Veni Vidi Vicious". For this installment, The Hives follow the same loud, in-your-face formula, but the overall sound seems a bit more refined - thanks in large part to some crafty synthesizer work. "Diabolic Scheme" even includes strings, which the band somehow still manages to rock-out. While "See Through Head" feels like a carryover track from the triple-V album, the other songs contain enough new elements to show progression from the band's previous body of work, while maintaining enough of their original sound to satisfy die-hard fans at the same time.
