About Daddy Yankee - Barrio Fino
Reggaeton star Daddy Yankee balances dance music with philosophical tunes on this 21-track CD. The engine driving this collection is the smash single "Gasolina," with its basic reggae beat and its catchy chorus "Dame mas gasolina!" ("Give me more gasoline"). Also highly danceable are "No me Dejes Solo," featuring guest singers Wisin y Yandel, and the English-language pop-reggaeton tune "Like You." But Daddy Yankee also reflects on his barrio on "Salud y Vida" ("Health and Life"), a rap tune that questions society's endless pursuit of material things. Like fellow raggeton artists Tego Calderon, Daddy Yankee admires big-band salsa. Among his influences he counts noted singer Andy Montanez, who guests on the track "Sabor a Melao." Montanez's distinctive gruff vocals add a soulful flavor to the track. --Ramiro Burr Amazon.com

This music is horrible, standards for music must be going down, i saw a video of daddy yankee and i dont see what the big deal about him is, i have seen many other singers with much more talent this guy doesnt even have a good voice it seems like ANYONE can sing music now.
do your self a favor and don't buy this if you are a real reggeaton fan then go buy something from Don Omar or Ivy queen.
January 27, 2007I've always been a big fan of Daddy Yankee. I've really enjoyed this CD. I've probably heard over 100 times and still listening to it. If you like Daddy Yankee, you'll definitely like this CD.
November 4, 2006I don't know what regaeton is nor do I care. I saw the song gasolina on some boost mobile ringtone commercial so I checked out the reviews. it is now confirmed. this is probably in the top 5 worst things I have ever heard. this isn't music. it sounds as if it was made on a generic casio keyboard. I don't hablo espanol either so it actually deserves negative stars. this is living proof of the state of "music." the fact that this got 4 out of 5 stars marks the beginning of the end of the world.
September 15, 2006My puerto rican boyfriend turned me on to Reggaeton and now I listen to nothing else. Daddy Yankee is one of my favorites along with Alexis y Fido and Wisin y Yandel. Track # 11 is my favorite. I drive around town with my windows down, blasting this music and everybody knows my car!! Definitely worth every penny.
July 14, 2006Picked up on reggaeton while in Honduras. Gasolina was a big dance fave there so I mostly listen to this CD for sentimental reasons.
