About Angel - Believe in Angels Believe in Me
Not everyone can transcend the teen pop genre, but like former labelmate Justin Timberlake, No Secrets' erstwhile lead singer has done an admirable job of distancing herself from the often coy and insincere musical genus, despite the fact her former glammed-up girl band was one of the best of the bunch. Much of the credit for their success has to go to Angel herself, whose strong vocal style and impassioned delivery transcends any hint of banality. On her solo debut, this kittenish and formidably talented singer continues to outshine her material--especially the couple of hackneyed offering from the Matrix, that splashy production team who helped make Avril Lavigne a household name. In fact Angel's best moments are on the three tunes--including the title track, with it's female empowerment subtext--that she co-wrote, where she fiercely attacks more age-appropriate subject matter, coming off as feral and as anthemic as Joan Jett in her prime. --Jaan Uhelszki Amazon.com

We've established that I hate dance music and that Angel's got at least a competent singing voice. The songs themselves aren't horrible, but what gets me is that every single song follows almost the exact same pattern. Verse/chorus/verse/chorus/bridge/chorus/chorus. There's no variation and it's completely aggrivating. However, the production is solid, so that's one plus.
Believe In Angels is the lead-off song, but not the last one in which the beat overpowers Angel herself. Wild Guess has lame verses but the chorus is noteworthy. Both catchy and strong. Once Upon Our Time goes down as the CDs best track. For those of us who are new to Angel, I'd describe this as a Kelly Clarkson type song, i.e., rock overtones yet still distinctly pop. Mama's Little Girl reaks of pre-teen pop. It's almost as if I were to walk through a big city's mall I'd see 12 year old girls singing it. Yeah, got the picture? Just The Way I Am is your typical "I'm me, deal with it" song. The verses are pretty good though. Three Small Words is another highlight. The bass heavy hip hop beat serves Angel's voice well here. To Forgive You deserves to have rounded out this CD. There's more of a downtrodden feel to it where you can ACTUALLY HEAR HER VOICE. Yeah yeah, I know, you hear it through the CD but here there's only a piano, some strings, and drums. No pulsating beats, nothing. So for that, this serves as the final highlight.
My favorite songs are Once Upon Our Time, Three Small Words, and To Forgive You. Angel has talent, yes, but until she takes more control over her music I don't think we'll ever hear anything astounding from her. The lyrics aren't that great, a lot of the beats sound used, and there's just not enough variety. I'm disappointed with this release, there's no two ways around it. I won't be giving this many more spins in the future, I won't have any sudden urges to listen to it. Believe In Angels Believe In Me follows what's popular, not what's good. October 27, 2006

| Great! |
Most songs are about love or growing up.Though no song was really about a breakup song expect "To forgive me".Yet unlike Jojo she really didn't say anything other forgive me.
If you like to have fun and dance around this is for one. It's not a waste of money and angel faith can REALLY sing! November 18, 2005
