Why Hasn't She Made it in the USA?

I haven't liked a whole album this much since Liz Phair's WhipSmart. If you need to catagorize her, she's kind-of a mix between Sheryl Crow and Cathy Dennis. Inexplicably, I've yet to hear any of her stuff on any local radio station. If it wasn't for Pandora, I would have never heard or Rachel Stevens at all. April 8, 2008

Big change from S Club to Funky Dory!!

Rachel Stevens was certainly like the typical Beverly Hills girl when she was part of S Club 7, but now she released her solo albums, this is my very favorite of all! She has such a nice voice, and her songs are amazing, she sings very good, and thank God now we can really appreciate her great and sweet voice, the one we only heard in one S Club song ("I Really Miss You"). She came back all grown up and better than ever!

"Funky Dory" is a very cool album with techno, a little rock, a little R&B and of couse pop music, and teh result is an excellent album that, for me, deserves at least one award.

Now, "Funky Dory" is one of my very favorite songs and albums of all time, and it's a real shame it wasn't released in the whole world, but in the UK only :( , she would have been great...

Now I can't wait for her next album to be on sale :D ...

Go and buy this album, you won¡t be dissapointed at all. July 18, 2006

Has a lot of filler, but you forgive her.

This is Rachel Stevens before she blossomed into the amazing electro-pop artist shown on her second disc, Come and Get It (which i highly suggest). This debut has it's high points, a lot of weak ones too. But the good overshadows the bad.

1) Some Girls - 10/10 Fast, energetic masterpiece
2) Sweet Dreams My LA Ex - 10/10 any pop fan will eat this up
3) Funky Dory - 10/10 under-rated by her UK public
4) Fools - 10/10 too pop, but very catchy, country twist
5) Breathe In, Breathe Out - 10/10 very pop, happy, but great
6) Glide - 10/10 catchy background music
7) Heaven Has To Wait - 8/10 nice lyrics, but overrated by UK
8) More, More, More - 10/10 cheesy cover but suprisingly catchy
9) Blue Afternoon - 7/10 1st real filler, bland jazz twist
10)I Got The Money - negative 1/10 yea, it's so poorly made. cheesy music, sounds like put together in 10 min.
11)Little Secret - 10/10 fast and fun
12)Solid - 8.5/10 only some will like it
13)Silk - 9/10 love the instrumental bridge
14)Some Girls Remix - 10/10 original is a little better December 28, 2005

Funky Dory Special Edition

This album is great all the way through. It is sophisticated, catchy, and diverse in its tracks. My personal favorites are "Some Girls", "Sweet Dreams My L.A. Ex." (written by Cathy Dennis who also wrote Britney Spear's "Toxic" and Kylie Minogue's "Can't Get You Out of My Head"), "Funky Dory", "Breathe In, Breate Out"-Swat Team Mix, and "Little Secret". Rachel Stevens proves that pop is art. Definatley worth the money to ship from the UK. Be on the lookout for her sophomore release sometime 2005. February 2, 2005
