Operettas in German are Great fun.

I watched the Merry Widow on TV probably Turner Classics and looked up what turned out to be the big box set from EMI that contained Lehar at his best. The joke around here is Germans unlike Norwegians can't laugh at themselves. He spans both World Wars without losing his humor and remorse that sometimes things just don't work out. These are light-hearted duets. All the emotions run rampant. May 19, 2005
