About A Dirty Shame

The perfect companion piece to the new John Waters film, opening September 24th. From co-star Selma Blair's "Red Hot" and Johnny Knoxville's theme, "Let's Go Sexin'", to the life-changing experience that Tracy Ullman's character experiences while listening to "The Pussy Cat Song", these songs play a prominent role in the film. By the time "Tony's Got Hot Nuts" and "Itchy Twitchy Spot" come on, you know that Waters used extra TLC while selecting these songs. Artists include Screamin' Jay Hawkins, James Intveld, Connie Vannett, Slim Harpo, David Raksin Orchestra, Billy Lee Riley, and many more. Album Description

rating: 4 Entertaining and rare
If you loved the film as I did and John Waters' brilliant and fertile mind as I do, this soundtrack is for you. All the full tracks of many songs used in the film, including the lusciously cheesy opening song "Sylvia". February 20, 2007

rating: 4 Not for mullet-heads
Pretty good but above average intelligence will be necessary to appreciate any John Waters movie. August 12, 2005

rating: 5 Hot Stuff!
Not only do these songs work beautifully in the (recommended)film, they all stand up as fine, dirty R&B and rockabilly tracks for your twisted listening pleasure. Your stereo will throb and pulsate to the beat, and so will the appropriate body parts. Buy the CD! Buy The DVD! June 21, 2005

rating: 4 Good, Clean, Dirty Fun!
If you enjoyed the movie (havent laughed so much in ages), the soundtrack is a must have! Full of funny, raunchy songs. Let's Go Sexin'! Eager Beaver Baby! Tony's Got Hot Nuts! Need I say more? Loads of fun. Great party music, but not for the kiddies! November 5, 2004

rating: 4 Scratch That Itch!
God Bless John Waters! This soundtrack is sure to get you all hot and bothered. Here is an almost perfect selection of music for that next beer-fueled night in the trailer park of your choice. Perfect music for those full-mooned nights when you feel like a cat (in heat) on a hot tin roof. Be forewarned, though. Not every musical selection will get you doin' the nasty: The Cowboy Church Sunday School's version "Open Up Your Heart (And Let The Sun Shine In") is downright creepy and easily one of the most disturbing songs EVER recorded. (...) Next time you're ready to go (...) bring this cd along. You'll be glad you did. October 3, 2004
