Yes, the sound quality is good, and certainly the performances are sound as well.

For you to like this cd, I would think you would need to like choral music... and I mean really like it. It goes on and on and on.

For me, it is tedious to listen to this album... too much the same to the point of being monotonous. It needed to be broken up by lighter orchestral pieces to make the album effective.

There is always the mentality where the best will always be the best. Whenever you see an unknown artist on Deustche Grammophon, you'll probably be like, "Wow, he's not bad. It's Deustche Grammophon...means that the sound is great too". Anyway, the bottom line is, this cd is really good. The music is very relaxing, some are a mixture of choral and ochestral, providing a decent enough variety. Nowadays, I usually buy newer cds for remastered sound. Turns out that this is one of the better ones. Overall speaking, this cd is great for everyone, not just classical conoisseurs. Highly Recommended April 24, 2006
