WOW. after all these years lisa Stansfield come back with one great cd. thanks to trevor horn, the vocals are some of the best lisa has done. i am a big stansfield fan, and i really like the newer pop sound, got tired of the R&B thing she was doing before, it all started to sound the same.....with trevor, he helps breath new life into lisa and her work...some of the best songs, easier, when love breaks down, lay your hands on me, the moment, only wish there were more uptempo songs, but all and all.....what a wonderful cd. some people said it took them sometime to get use to the new sound.....i say, bring on more. if your a fan, and love lisa's voice,...then youll love this cd, i cant wait till the next one. thanks lisa. keep up the good work. THE MOMENT is a new testament of Lisa Stansfield's return in her significant Rochdale's deep crooning vocal styling with the sound of UK-based pop songwriter-producer genius Trevor Horn.

This collaboration brings us yet a few more remarkable hits i.e. TREAT ME LIKE A WOMAN and the consequent WHEN LOVE BREAKS DOWN with Horn's powerful trademark chorus in Stansfield's veteran soulful and seductive package, HE TOUCHES ME/TAKES A WOMAN TO KNOW with Stansfield's further polished and sophisticated all-woman demeanour of a female vocalist, and IF I HADN'T GOT YOU with every positive drug chemistry that will make any geek crave to dive in the dance floor!

Often regarded as the pride and essence of UK pop music, Stansfield proved once again her reign is still way too far from over. November 10, 2006

Sound, Music good as previous LP. But not the best as 1st or 2nd albums. If you're the real fan, don't worry go get it. June 29, 2006

The last production I bought by Lisa Stansfield was "Face Up" which I felt was a mixed bag of catchy funk and soul numbers with an equal amount of lackluster vocals and melodies. "Face Up" was mediocre compared to "Real Love" or her third album-I can't recall the title-it may have been simply "Lisa Stansfield." (also LOVED the remix cd with that awesome Hex Hector version of "I'm Leavin'")

On the Trevor Horn production of "The Moment," our sistah Lisa is back and better than ever!! No, the disco influences and funk may be missing a bit but the touching ballads and pop magic that exist in these 11 songs make up for lost time. Unlike other albums and singles that Horn has produced for artists like Seal, the ABC Band and Cher, (to name but a few)Stansfield's powerfully pure vocals get put up front where they belong, avoiding the "Horn-like" echo and oveamplified sound of his usual style.

STANDOUTS-
Treat Me Like a A Woman (cool and dramatic-Lisa works it!)
When Love Breaks Down (my second favorite song on the cd)
Say It to Me Now (power ballad with sincere drama and heart)
The Moment (another touching slow number)
If I Hadn't Got You (My favorite song on the cd)
Love Without a Name (true and honest as our all the songs here)
Takes a Woman to Know (if this isn't a funky song I don't know what is!)

Buy it-you won't be sorry you did!

The Moment is different from Lisa's other CD's, but not at all in a bad way. This is a wonderful CD, which grows on you after the first listen through. In my opinion all of the songs on here a worth listening to more than once. I love this Cd not only because I'm a huge Lisa fan, but because "The Moment" is really, really a great CD that I never get tired of hearing. I cannot wait for Ms. Stansfield's next Cd, which I've heard is in the works, but this time with her husband Ian. March 14, 2006
