King Crimson - Larks Tongues in Aspic - 30th Anniversary Edition Remastered

King Crimson Reigns Supreme!

I've had the first King Crimson album for quite some time now, and I've always been a fan of theirs. This album, their sixth, released in 1972, is my new favorite. Can you imagine? Six albums over three to four years? Nobody does that these days, nobody! And don't even get me started with the Beatles! This is about "Crim", although I admit I love the Beatles as well... I'm still trying to figure out "Larks' Tongues in Aspic, Part I" on my guitar, and it's quite challenging! In the words of Sean Penn's character in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High": "Awesome! Totally awesome!!" Does anyone know of any available transcriptions of their music? August 31, 2008

A Unique Sound.

This album is a treasure mostly because the sound is unique to anything you will hear. No other artist will be able to imitate this sound, and even this very band, in any other lineup, couldn't imitate the sound. And it is definitely a cool sound.

This is a great album to introduce yourself to King Crimson. The sound is very accessible, but remaining extremely experimental and artistic.

The whole thing has a very dark and sinister tone to it, which definitely adds to the value of the music in my opinion.

The album definitely isn't for everyone, and may put you in a weird mood if you listen to it too many times, or for too long, but I cannot deny that this is a class album.

Also, don't judge the album solely by the samples that are provided on any website. :)

From hypnotic to disturbing, sweet melodies to discordance, has it all. My college son says Easy Money stands the test of time sounding oddly new. January 7, 2008

Pretty bad really

I really like King Crimson's first two albums. And "Islands" is pretty good too. But this one is way too odd and freaked out, more like avantgarde. Not really my thing, I prefer KC when they're a bit more melodic.

King Crimson reigns as always!

King Crimson are the epitome of progressive music, & "Lark's Tongue in Aspic" is a fine chapter in the on-going story of one of the greatest bands of all-time. this is the album when Bill Bruford left Yes, at the cusp of achieving stardom in the U.S. themselves, to enter the court of the Crimson King himself, guitarist & founder Robert Fripp. it's a shame Jaime Muir left the band after the recording of this album - but it hardly slowed Fripp & co. down in any way!
