Jeremy Camp - Restored

Within the span of three releases, Jeremy Camp has quickly established himself as one of the powerful "voices" in Christian music. Since day one, Camp's powerful vocal presence has been enabled, in part, by his own strong songwriting and outstanding studio production. Restored follows along these lines offering a number of solid tracks that will no doubt continue to fuel Camp's ascension. The opening title track may be the strongest rocker on the release and a likely standout single with "Lay Down My Pride" a close second. The majority of the album features mid-tempo pop and softer ballads, casting a duller sonic pall over Camp's previous work. That's not to say this is unworthy of a good listen as "Take You Back," "Be The One," and "My Desire" are equally appealing. Ironically, Camp's best strength (powerhouse baritone voice) may be his biggest weakness on Restored. If there are any drawbacks here it may be Camp's limited range that, over the course of a full release, could make the listener a bit weary. Ultimately nothing here is earth shattering, it is yet another solid step of maturity for Camp and a release that will please his fans while making a few new ones in the process. --Michael Lyttle Amazon.com

Great CD.

Course, I like Jeremy Camp a lot, so I may be bias. :-) Having heard this CD and listened to it many times I would buy it again. September 16, 2008

Another Jeremy Is Great!

Jeremy comes full circle with this album, sure his first two albums were good, but they weren't great. The precedent is set with the first track, "Restored" , great modern rock, with even better lyrics. The great thing here is that Jeremy builds up to the chorus, and then delivers without disappointment. The lyrics only get better with "Take You Back", his big radio hit, and for good reason. This song sings God's promise to us take back his prodigal sons.

Even slower songs like, "Even When", "Be The One" and "This Man" are nicely crafted, and don't get boring for one second.

And did I mention his rock tracks? "Lay Down My Pride" is unique in that it starts slowly in the verses but then it quickly amps up when it hits the chorus. Great track, easily a highlight. My personal favorite is "Breathe", a track that rockets off, and never slows down.

The only lowlight is "My Desire", which has great lyrics, but I think it could have been executed better musically, although the background vocals by his wife are excellent. Overall, it's all uphill for Jeremy. He waded through the waters of the debut album, and suffered through the sophomore slump, but walks on water with this album. My love for Jeremy is restored, as if it was ever gone in the first place, after all, that's is a GREAT first name. Jeremy, I like the sound of it.

Oh my gosh!

Oh my gosh! This album makes me melt inside when I listen to it. Its so romantic towards God. Jeremy Camp really loves Jesus and you can feel it when you listen to this album. I listen to it at work, school and home. Its the only album I can agree on with my co-workers and and my family. The music is so beautiful and his voice is awsome. The lyics are unbelievable! Oh, it just reminds me of the relationship I want with God. May 21, 2007

I could listen to his voice all day...

His voice is so beautiful, and his music is a mixture of almost a hard rock and Christian together. The Amazon Editorial Review does this CD no justice. His music, I think, surpasses the `Stay' CD. The tracks I like most are #2, 9 & 10, but almost all of these songs could be put on the radio instead of the select few they do.
It pumps the radio, the vocal chords, and the heart with the message he is singing about. Simply put, his music is simply wonderful. January 9, 2007

this CD is awesome...

every single song is good, and I'm not one to normally say that. Most CDs I like 4-5 songs and even skip past the others...not this one. This guy is so gifted and the songs are so good both musically and lyrically. I didn't discover Jeremy Camp 'til a friend gave me his unplugged CD; don't listen to Christian radio so never heard of him. After I gave it a chance I realized his music goes right to the heart and speaks to me like almost nothing else. This is one of my all-time favorite CDs and I'm very picky. November 13, 2006
