There is only one reason I remember this movie. At a big party scene Paul Lynde is dressed up as a woman -- to uncover a spy in their midst. He looks at the bar and-- to the wailing horns of Jerry Goldsmith's first season theme to THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E. -- there stands a tux clad Robert Vaughn (presumably as Napoleon Solo). He looks away and when he looks back Vaughn is gone. I can't think of another thing to recommend this movie unless you are really rabid Doris Day or Rod Taylor fan. November 24, 2008

I purchased the DVD because my granddaughter saw it on TV and thoroughly enjoyed it and continually asked when it would be shown again. Doris Day is at her funiest in this movie and her singing is classic Doris Day. My granddaughter continually apologized for laughing so hard. The whole family can enjoy this movie. August 23, 2008

Doris Day and such greats like Arthur Godfrey, Dom Deluise really made this a clean, fun to watch comedy. Some of the movie is comedy schtick but we certainly miss that in today's movies which lack creativity all together. Considering this movie is from the early 1960's, the video techniques were clever and you did not need to see Doris Day (as a mermaid) nude in the water to understand the rest of that shot. I am so glad that Glass Bottom Boat is on DVD ! August 18, 2008

rating: 5 QuoteA Family Favorite That Also Spoofs '60s Spy FilmsQuote
This movie is able to be a sweet Doris Day comedy while adding the sarcastic humor of Paul Lynde to become a spoof of '60s spy films. It's a nice mixture of what would have been pretty adult material with family fun. The supporting cast is filled with comedians at the top of their game. And though Rod Taylor is an acquired taste as a Day leading man, he seems to fit his hard-nosed scientist role. Most fun is seeing Arthur Godfrey in a great film debut. Yes, he sings and Doris sings (Que Sera Sera again!). But it all moves quickly and has enough action that it keeps the whole family's attention. July 29, 2008
