This is a double-sided DVD, with the 3:4 version on one side (with the left and right sides of the picture chopped off, as you would expect) and the 16:9 (widescreen) version on the other. To make the widescreen version completely fill a 16:9 HDTV display, they chopped off the top and bottom of the frame. Arrgh. It would be nice for the next release (Blu-Ray?) to show the movie as originally shown, without anything cropped out. Which would leave modest bars on the left and the right.

Not bad for Doris in a Musical Under $2. Alot of fun for a little price! Worth the look. Or if you want to be real cheap see if your library owns a copy!
May 15, 2008One of the greatest musicals of all times - fast moving, fresh, daring, unbelievable camerawork and choreography but don't buy this edition. The wide screen version is missing and the print is poor!
