About Young Jeezy - Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101

Young Jeezy is hardly breaking new ground in rapping endlessly about the similarities between the trap game and the rap game. He joins a distinguished line of former 'caine slangers turned MC--Scarface, Jay-Z, the Clipse, Biggie, etc. However, despite the familiarity of Jeezy's topics, this Atlanta rapper has managed to make a bi-coastal splash through the strength of his mic presence and charisma. As the stand-out member of ATL's Boyz N Tha Hood, Jeezy has distinguished himself against the field of contemporary rappers. More rugged than the Game, though not as charming as Cam'ron, Jeezy's work-horse flow and lyrics are draped into evocative street-level realism. Though the Southern influence is obvious in many of the album's bounce and crunk-influenced beats, he shows an impressive diversity of sound selection including on his current street anthems for this summer like"Trap Star," "My Hood," and the sublimely melancholy "Go Crazy." -- Oliver Wang Amazon.com

I think its a classic, he has some of the best rhymes and choruses ive ever heard...it makes my hair stand up, and he has great charisma on the mic. The beats all pound, and the mids and highs are very interesting to listen to, even slightly pychedelic like track 1, I have the feeling of being on a sick merry go round of making money (there is a money machine going in the background).

Some say he has too many ad libs, i never got annoyed by it, it only added to the greatness. Some say all he talks about is snow, but listening to this album makes you feel motivated to do "ANYTHING YOU PUT YOUR MIND TO, PUT YOUR GRIND TO"

Check the bass line on "standing ovation", the chorus on track 1 "thug motivation 101", and the lyrics to the begining of "go crazy". The rest of the album is just as dope. He shines bright on this album, one of my favorite verses ever is off "Trapstar" - 'Slide through the hood just to check my dough/ trapstar fresh from head to toe/ from toe to ear the kicks match the cap/ black tshirt yea match the strap/ the stones in the watch yea they match the chain/ new jordans on his feet snowmans the name' dope! the chorus is one of the best choruses ever.. GOT THE STREETS ON LOCK BIG SHOES ON THE CAR AND SHE LIKES IT. check this out October 23, 2008

this a great cd to have. young jeezy, with his sandpaper voice, delivers a school book of anthems and athoritative adlibs. he gives a subtle yet extraordinary blueprint of motivational subjects atop an aray of mindless talented beats. April 8, 2008

Young Jezzy is my favorite rapper in the game right now. This is easily the best album released during my high school years. My favorite songs are Standing Ovation, Gangsta Music, And Then What, Trap Star, Trap or Die, and Air Forces. The way to listen to Young Jeezy is to have a sub woofer that gets really loud. Gangsta Music has one of my favorite baselines ever. Jeezy's flow is incredible on this CD. January 28, 2008

This is great work from Jeezy. I pretty much like every song. The first song is definitely motivating; it will get outta bed and wanna take on the world. Jeezy definitely did it big on this effort. December 22, 2007
