I HAVE BEEN COLLECTING MUSIC FROM JOHN LENNON MORE THAN HALF MY LIFE. HE IS NEVER DISAPPOINTING. HIS COLLECTION OF MUSIC STILL REMAINS ON TOP AND RELEVENT EVEN TODAY. IN MY OPINION LENNON HAS THE BEST ROCK AND ROLL VOICE. HIS RANGE IS AMAZING. EVEN IF YOU HAVE MOST OF HIS LIBRARY OF MUSIC, HEARING ONE GREAT TUNE AFTER ANOTHER IS STILL MIND BOGGLING. GET THIS CD, GET THIS CD FOR YOUR FRIENDS, OR SOMEONE WHO IS STARTING TO GET INTO THE MUSIC OF THIS GENIUS. ONE COULD ONLY IMAGINE, WHERE HE STANDS ON THE POLITICS OF TODAY. September 16, 2008

Forever Lennon

Just listening to this album takes you back. Lennon, whatever your politics, was a voice for peace in an insane time in this country. The album reminds me of that time and wonder about other works he would have produced had he lived. Great collection of songs from an outstanding artist. June 12, 2008

How can ou go wrong??

This is a great collection by one of the greatest songwriters to ever live.

Now, if you are a Lennon fan and have the albums and/or other compilations, this is not the cd for you, don't waste your money on duplicates.

But, if you are a fringe Lennon fan or just getting into him, purchase this release and listen to some beautiful lyrics sung by a beautiful voice with wonderful instruments. June 12, 2008

The only John Lennon CD I have

I was lucky enough to be able to buy all of John's Albums as they came out on vinyl. I agonized for years, decades really, over what cd's to buy, and just never got any of them. Finally I had to make a decision, and I picked this up. I think the selection of songs is very good, I like the order they are arranged in, and I really enjoy listening to these discs separately from start to finish. I think this compilation does an excellent presentation of all of the qualities that I have admired in his work. If you are looking for the one album to get, I think you will be very pleased with this choice. This is as good as a best of collection that I have ever heard from any artist or group. Enjoy! 5 stars for the music, 3 for the idea of yet another collection

Let's be honest- you can't make a definitive collection for a guy like John Lennon. Not when there's over 90% of his discography that's worth hearing and owning. The only possible way a collection like this can be complete is when 90% of his legacy has been included. Anything less than that is really not worth owning. You mine as well just buy his regular studio albums when so many of his best songs have been left off his collections. With that said, what we have here is really good despite not being an essential purchase. You will recognize many of the songs, because they've become important pieces of music over the years, but let's just buy Lennon's studio albums instead. April 7, 2008
