About Teddy Geiger - Underage Thinking

Teddy Geiger, 17 and hugely talented, is going to take some lumps with the release of his debut CD--that's the way it goes when you're a blue-eyed, raven-haired, golden-skinned Adonis-in-training type. Don't let the hottie-haters distract you, though: this is pop music worth listening to, from the John Mayer-meets-Maroon 5-meets-Vanessa Carlton early tracks to later cuts, which bubble with something altogether purer. Geiger, known to the teen-age masses already for his turn on VH1's "In Search of the New Partridge Family" series and for playing a budding rock star on "Love Monkey," a CBS show that flopped weeks prior to this disc's release, sings in a ropey voice that's comfortable just where it is--mid-range and married to the feelings behind it. Which, surprisingly, are frontloaded with honesty and depth. "Thinking Underage," a song that does a neat backflip with the disc's title, is as gorgeous a sulk as has ever come off a major label; "Try Too Hard" is pure, sweet springtime. And Teddy, proving for all the world that the talent gods pick favorites, can play: hear him here on guitar, piano, bass and drums. -Tammy La Gorce Amazon.com

My daughter and I saw Teddy in concert; his entire album is fantastic. He's a true storyteller with wisdom beyond his years. May 22, 2007

Teddy Geiger has a very good CD. His voice is soft and gentle and very soothing. The songs on this CD are really great rainy day songs--every one is nice and sturdy and very truthful. I really like the songs "Gentlemen" and "Love is a Marathon", but all of the songs are pretty good. And he's really cute, which will help give him a lot of attention. January 23, 2007

There are some very good songs on this album 1,2,3,5. I have to skip 4 everytime, its that bad. The end of the album is average, so overall it is a good buy. January 17, 2007

How can you not be impressed with someone of that age who writes his own music, has a nice voice and plays most if not all of the instruments used in the songs? I've enjoyed listening to the CD just as much as my daughters. We definitely recommend this artist. January 9, 2007

The other reviewers who compared him to John Mayer are right. He sounds very similar and is extremely soothing to the ears. The songs grow on you as you listen to them more and in some places its hard to believe that a teenager wrote those lyrics!! I would buy his next album when it comes out... January 7, 2007
