This is a different band, essentially, without Mary Fahl's signature vocals, and four other musicians. Tolerable to listen to, but none of the mystical atmosphere of their earlier two albums, and little or no harmony. Disappointing.
August 18, 2008If you were smitten with the first October Project album's sound, and Mary Fahl's voice---this ain't it. I'm not saying it's bad music, it just has nothing to do with what I consider October Project. It's really a different thing altogether. Even the second album was showing a change of direction in a way, but this is totally unrelated. I was disappointed in Mary Fahl's solo album, too. I really wanted to like this stuff, but the very first album stole my heart and refuses to give it back. I think they really had something there.

i first heard october project while shopping in an alaskan department store in 1994; i fell in love with the sound. i have october project and falling farther in on both cd and cassette;they are both well used. the latest october project is a very simple project and has an edge to it, but does not recreate the melodic sounds heard in the previous two selections. no matter what they do there is so much talent it cannot be ignored, but if you are looking for the same sound you heard in years past, this is not the cd for you.i like it, but i can't honestly tell you why!
January 3, 2007The October Project disc "Differnt Eyes" is a great album. I enjoyed every sound and cadence. The real treat was the band reemergence as a threesome whcih is the real guts of this band. If you have nbever heard OP before, this a a great disc to get started with. I hghly recommend it. Wish it were longer though!
July 22, 2006It's hard to believe that it has been 13 years since October Project released their eponymously titled first CD. Perhaps the title of this EP suggests that the reconfigured line-up (singer Marina Belica is now lead vocalist) sees things differently than they once did. The compositions on this CD explore new ground, with lyrics sometimes more playful- especially in the song "forget you." Marina Belica's lead vocals are very satisfying to the ear and I can finally make out all of Flander's great lyrics without reading the liner notes. What remains the same is OP's commitment to great music. It's a sweet little package that leaves you hungry for more. Join the evolution!
