Johnny cash is just as good as he ever was on this disc. He's like fine wine and just got better with age. You can't go wrong with this selection.
Thanks
October 19, 2008A very well done video tour of the Holy Land
along with Johnny's unique and inspiring music.
October 6, 2008 | | A Cash project that is very much below standard....
I can only second what Puddleglumm (great nick ;-) has already written here before. Even though I love most everything that Johnny Cash has ever done, especially in his later years, I think that this film is downright awful. The blond Ikea-commercial Jesus obviously is historically inaccurate and his amateurish and uninspired acting is so off that the fascination that the "historical Jesus" must have exerted does not come through at all. Why would anybody have wanted to follow this sluggish blond fellow? The film certainly does not give any clue. And I did and do wonder why Johnny Cash and June Carter apparently did not mind the poor quality of the acting?? I assume that I won't watch the movie again, but I still like the "comfortably creepy" soundtrack--I still have that one on vinyl. Sorry if this might sound slightly offensive, but as a longtime Cash aficionado (I don't really like the word fan), I think that it's my duty to be honest.
April 20, 2008This was a gift for a Johnny Cash lover...I really don't think she was well pleased with the dvd. But she did say it was ok..
April 20, 2008 | | Wonderful! Why haven't we heard about this before?
Moving beyond words. We have shared it with friends and our pastor, and wonder where it's been hiding. It was made in the '70s and this is the first we've seen.
