| Aerosmith Rocks!! |
| I love this |
Mama kin has grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat guitar. I dont wanna miss a thing is so good. cryin', well, you get the good rock part, but it is so confusing because they change it to sad parts in the chourus (and some of the verses...........) The song i hate is sedona sunrise.
devils got a new disguise it is preety good. Rocking, but in the back of my head, there is something that is really pizarre, much of a difference.
Last child is a cool song. in the beginning it is kind of weird.
Dream on is ok. But weird. Walk this way is preety good. Run dmc messes up the rock of aerosmith. Love in a elavator is pretty good. But when they say 'hoh hoh' in the chourus, it is kind of weird. My fave song is jaded. livin on the edge is good. My second fave song is sweet emotion.
janies got a gun is good. July 17, 2007

Useless. Well not entirely there are two new great songs on this compalation. In the history of rock n' roll no other band has had this many compalations. Thats right Aerosmith holds the crown with far more then Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, and yes even The Beatles. The thing that blows many Aerosmith fans minds is that of all the compalations the band has released or that the record company has released only one has been any good, O Yeah Ultamate Aerosmith Hits. It covered the whole career. It had it all and left nothing out, it wasnt a best of but a hits collection and it gave you all the hits not the best of. This however is called a "Very Best Of" a term I am using loosley. While this does serve more as a greatest hits because all it has is hits it is missing the real "Very Best Of" Aerosmith. There is no (original) 'Walk This Way' 'Mama Kin' or even the cult classic 'Let The Music Do The Talkin.'
Now as a "starter kit" for new Aero fans or even for that casual fan who wants an Aerosmith cd for the car this would be fine...except almost all the songs are remixes and alternate versions other then what was the hit.Which is cool that the songs are being released in different versions for die-hards like myself but they are going about this the wrong way. Rerelease the classic albums and pu tthe alternate versions as bonus tracks...what a genius idea... Now that is the smart thing to do, but as we all know Steven Tyler is natorious for doing things the difficult way, but is that not what we all love about him.
The biggest problem I guess I have with this compalation is what true Aerosmith fan really perfers the Run-DMC version of 'Walk This Way' to the original. You will be hard pressed to find someone who will actually say that, and it is with concediration that it revivved their career and it is a classic but no more so than the original. This is also why I would recomend O Yeah to this because it contains both versions.
'Sedona Sunrise' is the first of the two new tracks. It is a nice ballad with incredible guitar work from Joe and Brad. Steven's vocals as always are amazing. The title track 'Devils Got A New Disguise' is a nice rocker in the same vine as the songs on Get A Grip. Great guitar work again, the vocals are killer and the lyrics are also very well written. Tom actually plays some great bass here as he always does but on this track it really stands out. Joey lays down a nice solid groove for the rest of the guy sto build off of and even though this will not it has the makings of a hit single. My only problem with these songs is that I wish they would have been saved for a regular studio album.
So over all, all the songs are great and are really classics in Aerosmiths cannon. But most people already own all of these. With a few adjustments this would be a great way to start an Aerosmith collection, but really this is just something for die-hards like myself. March 27, 2007
