I think shes is a great singer and i would do anythong to go to one of her concerts. And if you dont like you just dont have a life. The only song i dont like is Cold As You but thats only because I never listen to it and if shes so bad why did she win 3 awards and the biggest of the year on cmt awards?? July 1, 2008

I may be late at getting this album BUT

I think Taylor Swift is one of those likeable artists who will stay around for a while til shes in her 30's or 40's. I like her much better than the overhyped Carrie Underwood. While her voice may not be as impressive as Underwood, she does have good songwriting ability. I first heard of her when I heard "Tim McGraw" on froggy here in Pittsburgh. It was so good and original! I was waiting to hear more from this new talented country artist. Then I heard the 2007 single "Teardrops On My Guitar." It was a nice surprsie! I decided to take a listen for the rest of this album. The rest wasn't bad either. If you like the radio singles then there's more to offer besides that. My favorite song is "Picture To Burn." I wish she would have won Best New Artist for the Grammy's instead of the overrated Amy Winehouse and I'm sure I'm not the only one! I highly reccomend this to country and non-country fans alike! HOW I CAME TO KNOW ABOUT TAYLOR SWIFT?

THE BEGINNING

It's all thanks to the deejays at Fly Fm who kept playing her song Teardrops On My Guitar every single day. No kidding! I felt in love with that song the moment I first heard it. That prompted me to find out who is this Taylor Swift.

I googled her and I was led to her official site and her MySpace page.

THE MISSION

I then went on a mission to find her album which was released in the US in 2006. That mission was a tedious task and I found out something about our record stores, Tower Records, Speedy, CD Rama, MPH/Border's music section and Rock Corner do not have her album in stock. The worst part was, they have no idea who Taylor Swift is. I would get responses such as Taylor who? How do you spell it? T-A-I-L-...No it's T-A-Y-L-O-R. Swift as in Suzuki Swift. How do you spell that? Yeah we are living in a generation that doesn't read much.

I found it strange that all of our local stores do not have her CD. Was it because it was release in 2006 and was out of print? I doubt it. I didn't bother checking other record stores in other states because if two fairly big cities do not have the album, how likely it is for them to have it in their store. Oh before I forget, I'm residing in a country called Malaysia.

THE ALTERNATIVE

So I had no choice but to purchase it through Amazon. Here's the amazing part. I ordered the CD knowing only one song. That's pretty risky. But that's me. If I like a certain song, I'd go all out to get the entire album. Original disc only. The 30 seconds preview of each song on Amazon did not help either as it doesn't determine whether I'm into that particular song or not. But I love Teardrops so it doesn't matter if the rest of the songs suck.

So did it sucks? Hell No! I absolutely love every one of them. Taylor's CD is the second most expensive CD that I've purchased. The first was The Corrs In Blue album. Same story.

THE ALBUM

Taylor's debut album is a mixture of Pop and Contemporary Country music. For me to choose a favorite is pretty tough as all of the tracks are just excellent especially Teardrops, Cold As You and A Place In This World.

THE SINGER

I love singers who write their own songs. Taylor Swift is no exception. She wrote 3 out of the 11 songs. The rest of it she co-wrote it with her dearest friend and her song writing soul mate Liz Rose and one song with Robert Ellis Orral and Angelo.

HER VOICE

Her own unique voice is simply mesmerizing. It's like walking on a clouded bed. That's how I would describe it.

This is one of the best album I've recently purchased. I've absolutely no regrets whatsoever.
