Beautiful, really innovative album by Yoko and all the other collaborators. It made me even a bigger fan of hers. October 3, 2007

The title on this cd is slightly wrong. The 'W'should be changed to a 'B'so that it reads 'Yes Im a bitch'.The only reason John Lennon even thought that she had any talent was that he was on drugs at the time.Evidently some of you that like this cd must also be on drugs or you have absolutely no taste in music. Why doesnt dear yoko get it through her head that she has no talent.Who wants to hear a 74 year old bag sing who couldnt sing in the first place. For crying out loud shes got all of johns money and control over everything he left behind, why doesnt she do us a favor and fade away. Ever read the Heller book Catch 22? The term means if you think
you're crazy, you're not. The inverse is also true, e.g., crazy
people don't think they're crazy.

The same thing is true of music. People utterly bereft of talent
have no clue how bad they actually are. The real shame here is that
there are so many undiscovered musicians and bands with talent to
burn, yet steaming piles like this get released and inflicted on the
public all the time. Take the money you would have spent on this
movement by Yoko and go see a good live local band or performer in
your town. You'll be glad you did and you'll save having to recycle
the plastic in this CD! July 30, 2007

Every Man, Every Woman; Death of Samantha; No One Can See Me Like You Do; Walking On Thin Ice; Toyboat; and I'm Moving On are the re-makes that catch my ear. The rest range from ok to not for me. Like Open Your Box it's a mixed bag. It took several listenings to appreciate anything, but the ones that caught fire real work for me. I'm not into all this disco-like pounding that seems to invade most of Open Your Box and some of I'm A Witch. That doesn't allow an individual piece to distinguish itself. But all in all I'm happy to own anything Ono puts out. For me Ono peaked in the 90's with Rising (cd and single [the single I play again and again as it speaks loudly to me] and the cd like her Season Of Glass are her two best cd/album releases); Franklin Summer; and Georgia Stone (a poignant anti-war Fluxus Symphony).

The original Walking On Thin Ice is a tough act to follow, but the version on I'm A Witch is the one remake of this powerful song to equal its origins. Yoko seems to be on the cutting edge hit parade of being hip with the current music revolutionaries. I'm really unfamiliar with that scene. Her need to be hip and sexy at seventy-something seems terribly important to her. While I'm really happy to play the tunes I like from both current releases (Open Your Box, the single, especially the extended single cd release of several versions of Open Your Box, is magnificent, there are times when she rivals that 70's disco powerhouse Donna Summers, which is no small accomplishment) I'm more in tune with the serious avant-garde Ono. Though the hipper and younger crowd will really enjoy these two releases. I find them better to listen to while driving in my car with that open road exhileration of movement. May 25, 2007

I have been a Yoko Ono fan for as long as I can remember. years ago I stumbled upon a 45 single of Yoko and Elephants Memory and I have been hooked ever since! There are some poeple that have posted here saying Yoko has no talent, but I will argue with them till the end of time! Someone also says that Yoko will not let anyone record the vocals to her songs...WRONG AGAIN!!!! I have a CD titled I believe the name is "Every man has a woman". This is not the new single she had a few years ago....this is a various artists doing Yoko's songs. The thing is, I really like the other people doing the songs, but I prefer Yoko's vocals. Yoko has always been referred to as the one that broke up the Beatles, but a lot of people do not realize she was world famous before she ever met John Lennon. Yoko's songs bring out alot of emotion and I am so glad to say that I have all of her albums. The ones with John and ALL of her solo albums. April 27, 2007
