This is not your typical 60's box set of songs. It has some of the more well known ones, but also some off the beaten path hits. March 10, 2008

A fun and enjoyable collection that includes one hit wonders such as Incense and Peppermints. This is missing some notables such as Frank Zappa--it's mostly songs heard on the radio in 1967. Somebody to Love, I Had too Much to Dream (last Night), So You Want to Be a Rock and Roll Star and Happy Together are some 1967 standouts. February 17, 2008

It's amazing how much great music was being created during that "Summer of Love" in 1967. This 2 CD/1 DVD set is a nice sample of that music, and the DVD is a well-made documentary putting it all in perspective, with many pertinent comments from people who lived through it. The CDs are quite generous with 20 songs on each, but the second half of the second CD is not as good to me, sometimes even substandard. And as is usually the case with these compilations, some big names who had hit songs in 1967 are not on here, people like the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and the Doors, presumably because the producers did not have access to their recordings. I dealt with these shortcomings by re-recording these CDs, cutting 8 tracks, then adding in some missing songs. A couple of good supplementary CDs are AM Gold: 1967 and the Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour. The appearance of this set is very nice, with great graphics and an interesting booklet giving some background on the songs and performers. Sound quality is very good, too. February 11, 2008

The track selection and sound quality are fine. However, the first two tracks on the first disc skip. There are no apparent visible faults on the disc, but it is annoying. February 10, 2008

OK, so I really like the AM CD...artists I didn't buy at the time but find I've grown nostalgic about now that I'm, like -- old. But the FM CD? I guess you had to be there. These artists were huge at the time, and some of them have endured. But lucky for them, their success did not hinge on these earlier recordings. January 12, 2008
