About Marilyn Manson - Eat Me, Drink Me

Four years since his last studio album, and following up on his highest charting radio single ever ("Personal Jesus", from Lest We Forget), Marilyn Manson returns with "Eat Me, Drink me". Art openings, soundtrack appearances, and personal circumstance have grabbed headlines for Manson in recent months, setting the stage for the release of Eat Me, Drink Me, which is unquestionably the artist's most personal statement yet. Always the provocateur, in what may be the ultimate subversion of the code of aggro-rock, the songs are immediately catchy - all jagged guitar hooks, anthemic choruses, with an overlying glam-rock sheen. Lyrically Manson has never been more riveting, seemingly having enough to draw from in his own life and from society at large to present a fresh, snarling vision. Album Description

i love this cd .. its different from the hardcore stuff like anti christ superstar.. but its still Marilyn Manson.. some people think MM should stick to the hardcore sound.. but i like it when MM does different styles cause he puts his unique sound and voice on it.. some of the songs had an 1980's feel to it.. cause some songs had decent guitar solos..

this cd had a nice rock sound to it.. not hardcore but not soft.. just good August 21, 2008

It's kind of funny. For someone who related himself to an antiChrist when his career really took off he sure is a fart in the wind now. For someone so in tune with Biblical imagery (supposedly), I wonder if he's drawn the parallel with the prideful fall of Lucifer with his musical career? Unless former band members are outright lying, it's pretty obvious the guy is an egomaniac who has shed all talent from his roster. I hadn't listened to him in years (LOVED S.L.C and A.S. while M.A. was only mediocre, as was P.O.A.A.F.) and really lost interest shortly after M.A came out but totally dropped him since. His releases showed some spark here and there, but now the fire is officially out. As other reviewers have pointed out, it's great to not release the same thing over and over, but he's done nothing but go downhill since leaving Reznor's guidance. July 31, 2008

I have been his fan since Portrait of an American family times. I grew up with all the lyrics from portrait to holywood in my head, I even bought birth of the antic... dvd & I did like it; now, I'm just very disappointed with this record. Well, I guess people change. I understand Manson sings according the experience he's living but, get real... the man how put on video 2 pink cops kissing, the rebirth of an ancient cooper... talking on new videos about love & relationship deception!! what happened with the man pissing over the audience and talking about a stupid and metal addiction to believe in someone? I love to watch old manson videos but the new ones... hum, it's like seeing Bon Jovi with a lot of makeup. I'm afraid manson is finished with his original and brilliant career. the man looked like a living mummy in the antichrist world tour. Now he looks like anybody else. Talking about this release, I just like Just a Car Crash away title, the other tracks are so eternal, they looks like a boring long version of black sabbath's records after Ozzy left the band. I really hope to hear the real manson again. July 27, 2008

Another nail in the coffin of goth. Manson should give it up. He was bad enough in the nineties (the pearl jam of goth my friend says but i never really considered him true "goth", just an opportunist.) another unoriginal. So sad so sad. July 10, 2008

This CD is quite different from a lot of manson's other work, but I don't think its any worse. If anything, it's almost an improvement. This Cd has slower paced songs (just a car crash away), fast paced songs (mutilation is the most sincere form of flattery), and catchy new beats (heart shaped glasses) When I got this CD mutilation is the most sincere form of flattery became an instant favorite. Heart shaped glasses is also an interesting song and they should not be missed. The downside of this CD is that not all songs manage to keep your attention all the time. Songs like eat me, drink me only work if you enjoy music which can sometimes be percieved by others as "slow and boring" That said, this album isn't bad and I don't regret getting it. But for some Manson fans, it might lead to disappointment. June 19, 2008
