Andre Previn is a jazz piano genius just like Rob Mullins. I love this music! July 11, 2008

This is exactly what one would expect for straight ahead jazz piano but seems hard to find. As advertised it is only solo piano w/ no performance gimmicks - this may sound a little Spartan to some, but if you appreciate great piano playing and love jazz this is it! I have played it dozens of times since receiving the disk in mid December a few weeks ago and am not tired of it. This CD will be on my disk changer for a good portion of the new year. This CD was done during an early period in Previn's musical classical life, when he was still very much in touch with his love of jazz. I think it might have been a happy time in his personal life as well. I find it lovely to listen to, especially since it is non-intrusive as I am getting other things done. Unlike more modern stuff that seems to go no where, these are familiar songs with words to sing along with him, should you remember them and have a mind to sing. October 5, 2007

This cd is superb. It has everything a jazz lover wants to hear, delicious improvisation, affection for the songs, sublime and elegant playing. This is a masterful recording and will keep me company for as many years as Previn's "Ballads" album has. Between those two cd's I am set for life!

Very disappointed in this one. He sounds like he had a difficult time going from classical to what ever he intended this to be. I'm sure he feels avant-garde but it sounds like he missed the keys at some points.
I wish that I had not purchased this CD. August 9, 2007
