AMERIE, WHAT'S IN YOUR FUTURE?

It is apparent that Amerie worked very hard on this cd and pushed herself beyond her previous efforts!! It's unfortunate that this cd was released in Europe only...because of someone else! But the stupid move by the record company will cause her to be an international star as it seems she will be if her management is paying attention. Anyway this is my first Amerie cd and there are some songs I could do without but there are some songs she nails over and over again! She put in work!!!! June 10, 2008

Amerie Im sorry! I love you but this albums goes to the birds!

I am a BIG! Huge! Amerie fan and this album simply disappoints me. There are only two songs that I play and then I stick it back in my cd case. Take it from a person who has bought Amerie's debut (which was overlooked, but one of the best albums back in 2002), and her second album, was good but wasnt as good as the first one (and I actually liked all of the songs on the cd), but this one is just horrible!! If you decide to get this cd, the best songs on there is: 'Make me over', 'That's what UR', and 'Somebody up there must love me'.....everything else sounds like she hopped in a time chamber and just said "80s! To the rescue!!!", but yeah, Im sorry Amerie. That's probably why it never got released in the states. April 30, 2008

Better than Beyonce

This album is better than anything Beyonce has ever put out. Amerie is a far better artist and she doesn't need Jay Z to back her up like Beyonce. this wasn't released in the states becasue Amerie and Beyonce are on the same label and Columbia didn't want to upstage its number one star. Beyonce look out!!!!! This album is Fire it's hot. March 18, 2008

Why didn't they release this in the U.S.?

This is one of my top ten for 2007. The singing, particularly the harmonies, are original, yet familiar enough to communicate to the intended audience. Beyonce, Mary J and Janet are all influences. The beats sometimes sound like her last album even though the producers are new, leading me to believe that Amerie herself plays a big role in the beats. Favorite songs are "Crazy Wonderful" and "That's What U R."

The fact that Amerie grew up without leaving the house much, with her Korean mother, and now makes this authentic and highly extroverted African American music shows me what a genius she is. March 1, 2008

I DO NOT LIKE THIS ALBUM!!!

I held out for months to buy this album hoping the price would be reduced. No go on that. All that waiting only to find out that i DO NOT LIKE IT! Soon after listening, I caught an attitude. I was mad that I purchased this. I enjoyed her other albums immensely. I cannot say that i like every song on this album. Some will make the Ipod. I can appreciate the 'ol school feel of the music, but I think it was overkill. I don't know, I just wasn't happy with this one. February 27, 2008
