About Si sos Brujo: A Tango Story

A heartfelt inspiring film that could do for Argentine Tango what the Buena Vista Social Club did for the music of Cuba. This beautifully shot documentary captures the compelling story of a group of young Argentine musicians racing to learn and preserve the elegant and nuanced music played by the legendary Golden Age tango orchestras of Buenos Aires in the 40's and 50's. For those familiar with the names of Pugliese Triolo and Piazzolla this film is essential viewing. It also has broad appeal as anyone interested in the creative musical process will love Si Sos Brujo. In Spanish with English subtitles.System Requirements:Running Time: 79 Mins.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: DOCUMENTARIES/MISC. Rating: NR UPC: 736899108120 Manufacturer No: DV92956 Product Description

Since my father was an imitator of Carlos Gardel, I grew up with all things Tango. On returning to the Madre Patria, I was so happy and encouraged to see the young musicians of Buenos Aires (and from around the world) investing in and being changed by Tango. But admittedly, some nuance, some flavor of the old music was missing. This movie captures that quality, attempting, not to re-establish the old ways, but to preserve them for future generations. Highly enjoyable film for any tango lover, indeed, music lover! May 7, 2008
