About Georgia Gibbs - Girl Singer

The thirty tracks here have been re-mastered, and many are appearing on CD for the first time. Under the moniker Fredda Gibson, this versatile artist sang with the bands of Hudson-Delange, Frankie Trumbauer, and Artie Shaw before she changed her name and found success as a solo girl singer. In the 1950s, she placed thirty hits in the American charts, including two #1 sensations. Album Description

The Laziest Girl In Town is a great hit. If you are of the Beatles and Stones generation Dream A Little Dream Of Me is pure gold. Wedding music gold. If hearing Bob Crosby's crooning baritone for the first time doesn't make your girl tingle, drive her directly to the doctor. OK, I exaggerate, but it's a good tune. June 9, 2008
