I love this ENTIRE CD and i cant believe i finally got it. it was a hard one to find, but well worth the wait and time spent looking for it. Would definately recommend this CD if you like drum n bass and techno. a KILLER party cd FOR SUREZ! get the party STARTED!!!
October 9, 2008After losing my first copy it didn't take me long to decide to re-buy it for another ~$20. The variety from track to track, great loops, & hooks, and use of vocals make this more than just a DnB album. If you're the slightest bit interested in Drum & Bass, pick this one up. You will not be disappointed.

There are very few cohesive drum 'n' bass albums, let alone electronic music albums across all genres: most of them are haphazard mashes of singles which give little thought to the actual longplay format.
From the serious, realistic-sounding speech samples and Mega Man boss theme-esque Hoover drops in "Slam" to the exquisite emotion which is the title track, "Hold Your Colour", Pendulum have an amazing range of talent which is shared by few others (DJ Fresh being an example, who also collaborated with Pendulum).
Some of the tracks here are longer and more repetitious than others, but there are plenty of great grooves to be had: some have compared Pendulum to Prodigy, and there are some sonic similarities, but it has more to do with their shared propensity for making a great riff work without mindlessly droning on about it, AND being such a reckoned force when performing live.
I believe one of Pendulum's greatest assets is introducing more people into DnB and other overt electronic music. As ambassadors bridging genres and being bold, here's my cheer to hoping they keep up the greatness for many years to come -- just like the rock music pioneers that came before them.

This album covers all the Drum and Bass action you could want with deep grindy sounds all the way to phasing warbles, all the while holding a tune and melody that harmonize with one another. Most drum and bass just pumps loud slappy drums and crazy sounds that have nothing to do with one another, however this album proves that drum and bass is just about the amesomest music on the planet so long as the creator loves what they are doing and knows how to make music.
If you like awesome then buy this album.
