About Terence Trent d'Arby - Sign Your Name: The Best of Terence Trent d'Arby

2007 two CD collection from the late '80s and early '90s R&B star. In 1987, Terence Trent D’Arby announced his presence on the UK music scene with an eye catching mix of musical talent, great looks and hyperbole of the highest order. D’Arby made Muhammad Ali look like a shrinking violet. He was smart. He knew, like Ali, that if you tell the world something enough times eventually it will believe you. And it did. His debut album, The Hardline According To Terence Trent D’Arby, sold a staggering eight million copies. This collection charts his story through to the mid-'90s. 36 tracks including 'Sign Your Name', 'Wishing Well', 'If You Let Me Stay' and more. Music Club. Album Description

TTD was from the sam cooke of vocals and he was the Link between Bobby Womack to R.Kelly in that ability to bridge R&B and Pop with a strong Gospel vibe. TTD has a strong vocal pressence and His songwriting is very poetic. this collection captures all of his hits and shows a artist who truly made some noise. very talented cat. September 29, 2007

This singer is a "long lost leader" whose music is far better than many of the entertainers who clone their styles to sound like today's pop hero. It's very sad that Trent doesn't get the recognition that he deserves. This cd collection is a great place to start if you want to discover a first rate performer who is definitely ahead of his time. Just take a minute and sample a few of the tracks and you'll see what I'm talking about. I characterise Trent's music as a blend of Prince, Stevie Wonder, Lenny Kravitz, and George Michael. Add to that his original style and you come up with a very interesting recepie that is sure to delight listeners of all ages. August 22, 2007
