This show really is fairly good

After reading the review posted by the other customer, I wasn't sure what to expect from this program. I figured it was more a serious anthology show along the vein of The Loretta Young Show which I really didn't like nor could I get into.

I've been watching The Betty Hutton Show on a site called TV4U & have to say it really isn't all that bad an effort for a lesser known one-season late 1950s sitcom. You could do far worse with other offerings.

The plots aren't that weak & are believable, standard, silly fare typical of all comedy shows 1950s & otherwise. Please don't hesitate to give this a look, you'll be glad you did. The characters are great & Betty Hutton was beautiful & had done a good job with the material she'd been given in this effort, as had done the entire cast.

I just purchased my copy on Amazon today & look forward to its arrival soon!

I love 50's TV...But this show stinks!

With a handful of exceptions, Almost all my favourite TV shows come from the 50's. "Rocky King, Detective", "I Married Joan", "I Love Lucy", "What's My Line"", and many others are on my list of favourite TV shows ever. And Betty Hutton is among the finest actresses of all time, AND it's a Desilu Production, The same company that produced many of these fine TV shows everybody remembers. So what went wrong here? The Scripts are weak, The "Acting" is atrocious, The plots are dumb. Now, This is coming from somebody who thought the 60's sitcom "My Mother The Car" was "Ok"! I wouldn't say it's as bad as "Flavor of Love" or "American Idol", But if you are looking for a watchable 50's TV series, Look somewhere else. July 13, 2008
