About Family Affair - Season 4

Family Affair Season 4 contains 25 episodes on 5 discs, including the two-part "Family Paradise" and never-before-seen bonus features.

Family Affair was a popular situation comedy and a regular top 20 hit show produced by Don Fedderson Productions for CBS-TV during its five-year run from 1966-71. Brian Keith stars as bachelor Bill Davis, a highly-paid engineering consultant who lives in a posh Manhattan apartment with his proper English manservant, Mr. Giles French (Sebastian Cabot). Davis’ carefree existence is turned upside down when his brother and sister-in-law die suddenly in a tragic plane accident, leaving their three children orphaned. Davis becomes an instant father figure to six year-old twins, Buffy and Jody (Anissa Jones, Johnny Whitaker) and their big sister, Cissy (Kathy Garver).

Bonus Features Include:
A Conversation with Johnny Whitaker
- The Child Stars

Well, what can I say, Superb prints by MPI and a totally enjoyable season. It's good to see the family go to Tahiti in the final two installments of season four.
The extras are VERY IMPORTANT and informative. Where else would you find a discussion of the careers of five former child stars. Kathy Garver of course, always a pleasure to listen to heads the group and producer John Stephens is the moderator. We get to hear interesting stories from Veronica Cartwright, Jerry Mathers, Kym Karath and Pamelyn Ferdin, each tells a fascinating story of their life before and after.
A must for any fan of classic 60s TV.
Of course we get part one of Johnny Whitaker's side of the story, you will have to purchase season five (and why wouldn't you want to collect the entire series?) to see the conclusion. March 30, 2008

rating: 5 QuoteFinally...A Johnny Whitaker Interview!Quote
Being a fan of this wonderful show I had my copy of the 4th season on pre-order very early on. What makes this season so special (and the upcoming final season due out in February 2008 as well) is the long awaited interview with Family Affair star, Johnny Whitaker!

Johnny's interview is like a breath of fresh air! I'm glad to finally see him included in the series extras. It's about time! It's beyond me how you can have one of the two remaining actors on this show doing commentaries and leave the other out completely, especially when the show was mainly about the twins (Buffy & Jody)and the antics they got themselves into. I can hardly wait to see the remaining piece of Johnny Whitaker's interview!

I agree with another review, that the only thing missing was the list of episodes. I did, however, find a list of all episodes in order and with their original airing date on imdb.com. This list was of great use to me when I converted all 4 Seasons over for my ipod!

All in all, the episodes are complete. The color is good, and I've not had any problems with my discs. It's wonderful to be able to see this show again as it was my favorite growing up!

I am thrilled that MPI finally decided to include Johnny Whitaker in their extras. His interview was very well done. He went over details I had not heard him say in other interviews he has done in the past. I can't wait for the other half of his interview, which will be included in Season 5's release. I have had quite a bit of digital tiling on Disc 1. I don't know if it is a fluke or not. I don't know if tiling is on the other discs. It didn't appear on the two separate interviews with Kathy and Johnny on disc 5. I watched the interview portion first. November 10, 2007
