| | "The Highlights" version at Rite-Aid (7 songs) | |
I was surprised to find only 7 songs on "The Highlights" version of this CD that I purchased at Rite-Aid. (I guess that is why it was only $7.99)
It was a typical 60's-70's singer trying to sound the same as his original period using today's computer-generated accompaniment. Not a bad try, and Englebert still sounds quite well. Too bad this version doesn't have any ID3 tags, the title and song names aren't found by iTunes or Yahoo Music Jukebox, an odd omission.
September 7, 2008I've been a fan of Engelbert's for decades and he still sound absolutely perfect. His voice could melt hearts! He's been doing that to me for a very long time!
April 13, 2008Well, Engelbert continues to entertain us with his latest CD. Undoubtedly he is the world's best singer. This CD is a really nice departure, and it's lovely to hear some of those songs again. I thought Enge did a wonderful rendition of "Every Breath........."

Engelbert IS the best ever! No song written is as good as it can be, till Engelbert sings it!'The Winding Road" is worth 10 stars. I have so many of his CD's, but recently found one that has "The Power Of Love" on it, and it is fantastic. Wish he would put it in hes show sometimes. That album is called "Please Release Me" and all the songs are different from the other albums I have. His voice is as great today as it was when he started, I know, I go to his shows at least twice a year.

As I write this I am listening to "The Winding Road, The best of the Brits". Along his journey Engelbert continues his road of perfection with his latest CD. You wonder how this gentleman can just continue to get better and better, he is amazing in his talent to take songs and make them his own to the extent that you wonder how any other artist did them justice after listening to his rendition. You will love his latest masterpiece and it will leave you with the thought, how long before he will bless us with another CD!
