The lead single from Britney Spear's new album Blackout is an infectious, sassy, sexy and brilliant return to form. Among others, the song was written by Keri Hilson - who featured on Timbaland's "The Way I Are" single recently - and is very catchy and fun.
The song sees Spears encouraging a man to become more involved with her physically and romantically, no matter who is watching and also highlights the public's need to find out more about her current situation, particularly the song's title itself, "Gimme More".
The song definitely leaves the listener wanting more and it will be interesting to see if Spears' album lives up to the excellence of this song.
February 18, 2008Britney is back on top with this incredible CD. All of the songs are powerful and substantive and command your attention. She is able to deliver a message with depth while producing some of the best quality dance tracks ever. There is no doubt who the queen of pop truly is!

I'm not even a Britney fan and im hooked on this song. This is one very exotic sounding track and an excellent song to dance to.
November 1, 2007Britney Spears comes back with a catchy song. it's not much on the vocal side or even on the Production side, but the Groove is enough to be catchy and work for it's purpose. it's the kind of cut that makes a cool ringtone or a cut to dance to or just hear on the radio and groove to.

I've never been a fan of Britney. I never thought she could sing at all. But "Gimme More" is not as bad as what people think. Does she sing great? No. Is it a simple song? Yes. But what mainstream pop music isn't simple and repetitious? It's got a catchy beat and you can dance to it or workout to it. I think people are giving it horrible reviews because of what is happening in her personal life. Britney's not innocent anymore! Blah, blah, blah! No, I don't justify her drug addiction, etc., but c'mon there have been plenty of other celebrities that have had problems. I also think sexism is being played out here. If Britney were a man, I'm sure a lot of people would turn a blind eye concerning her many problems. Do you think Keven Federline is free of drug problems? I bet not. But you don't hear him being crucified to the extreme. Like I've said before, the song "Gimme More" is a catchy song to dance to. It was intended to be a catchy pop song. And it works.
