Awesome talentJust finished watching this dvd and was blown away.... she is more amazing in concert than in her studio performances. This is the mark of a true talent... and to those who said she was "loaded", I disagree.. she was sometimes too moved by the lyrics of the songs she had written at a very painful point in her life, that it was easier for her to not explain.... Like sitting in the front row & balcony
This DVD shows the immense talent, poetry, and charisma of Amy Winehouse. I highly recommend it to any of her (adult)fans. I had seen photos of her and heard all her recorded music, but I had no idea what she was like in person. This DVD is well made showing all angles of Amy and her band in concert. She sings from the heart and leaves nothing to the imagination. The DVD also shows interviews with Amy and family and friends. Besides talented, Amy is one of the most honest and frank celebs I've seen in years, though I suspect she doesn't think of herself as one. I'll watch this again and again. A unique, uncompromising talent--VIVA AMY!!
Amy Winehouse shows in this luscious DVD that she is the real deal. The best singer/songwriter to come along in ages, and a charming, beautiful performer. What more could one ask? She did NOT appear "drunk" to me--just a bit shy, insecure, and pleasantly tipsy. Whatever gets you though the show, Amy! She's got the "wow factor" so many manufactured, lip syncing, cookie cutter pop stars lack. This doll has talent to spare. And her band is the bomb. As for the two back-up singers/dancers--phenomenal! Where do these guys find the energy to sing and dance like that for an entire show? This DVD showcases a rare talent--so ignore the tabloid trash and enjoy a genuine star for a change. April 25, 2008
