James Melton historic recordings

This is the only CD of operatic arias sung by the American star James Melton. Recorded originally in 1945-48 by RCA Victor, until now they could only be heard by collectors of vintage vinyl. The mono sound has not been enhanced but the distinctive lyrical voice still shines through. 19 songs drawn from the standard tenor repertoire of opera and sacred classics are represented. Melton is joined by Licia Albanese in a love duet from Puccini's Madama Butterfly. I highly recommend this collection to anyone who loves beautiful singing. March 18, 2008
