Nice tour souvenir and overview of career
Having seen Phil solo and with Genesis, I can tell that the audiences are very different. The solo Phil fans going to a Genesis show are probably going to be bored until they do "the hits". Which they did.
The one thing missing from the CD, the HUGE screen. I don't think the solo translates to CD as well as watching Phil and Chester play it, you can find it on You Tube for the time being.
Keep in mind, it wasn't that long ago that Phil said he was done playing live shows because of his hearing. So for the past 2 tours, it's been about putting closure with the fans while he can still play good enough and sing just enough before age puts limits on him.
Other than a possible Rock Hall induction and Peter Gabriel and Steve Hackett agreeing to tour (and you can bet if it does happen, Phil and Peter will be exchanging lead vocals just because it would be hard for PG to sing some of those challenging songs) this is going to be it as far as they go.
This tour had no opening act. It was just them for 3 hours with a short break.
There's enough documented on them live (other than the Lamb tour) to see and hear them over the years and get that they were and still are a great live band, but you will be pleasantly surprised that most of it is as good as anything they've done in the past 30 years and believe it or not, some of the excellent drum playing is Phil and not Chester covering. It's not "Seconds Out" or "Three Sides Live", but to me it's on par with "The Way We Walk".

Genesis...Live! Better than Dead!
However...they didn't need to record and release this concert. As others have mentioned, the downtuning is oddly disturbing most of the time. Some of the tunes are quite sluggish. The song selection...
...Is boring. They gave us NOTHING that hasn't been done before, and done better. It's almost as if this is a rehash of the mediocre The Way We Walk CDs. The songs that might have been interesting are only SHORTENED versions that leave us wondering. Come on guys, change the set list up a bit. You've got plenty to choose from.
If you want a live Genesis record, this should be your last choice. Seconds Out is the best, IMO. If you want Gabriel era, your choices are limited to Archive vol. 1 and Live (1973). Other Collins era available include Three Sides Live, Archive vol. 2, and The Way We Walk vol.s 1 and 2. Get any, or all, of these before getting Live Over Europe. May 8, 2008
Deja Vu All Over Again!
Brilliant Stuff throughout but all I thought of was "Seconds Out" from 30 years ago! Collins, Rutherford, Banks, Steurmer and Thompson Turn it On Again with this decent package of Live performances recorded LY in Europe.
Whether prog or pop, Genesis delivers the goods. Consistent and enjoyable throughout.
'In The Cage' stands out for me.
Shame, however, as Phil drops the F bomb on 'Invisible Touch'.
Oh well, such are the times.
