PVD in fine form, could maybe do without second disc

The first disc in the Limited Double Edition is excellent. However, I wasn't too happy with the second disc: The Count Remix of White Lies is so lethargic you are compelled to change the track. How can you destroy a good track like that and be happy with yourself? And PVD's track "Taking the Long Way" is taking the long way to boredom.

Overall, I say this is a great piece of work. Some may say PVD is going too commercial by teaming up with Sutta, but I brush those concerns aside. PVD can still bring the house down, and at the end of the day, that's what really matters. November 3, 2008

wrongly advertised by Paul Van Dyke himself

woops! i wrote a review for the single edition CD of this one, but really i got the limited double edition at one of PVD's shows in Portland, oregon.

he advertised that the songs he was playing were from this CD. NOT TRUE! The only one he did play during the show was "Let Go". I really TRIED to like this CD, but just don't. I NEVER listen to it.

It is too commercialized, too "radio ready" and sounds too much like a pop album. i think i'll sell mine back and try to recoup some of my $[...] that I paid for it.

skip it!!! armin van buuren's stuff is way better - saw him perform in portland oregon with the imagine album and WOW it was great! he was playing live - not just from his APPLE computer like PVD! and getting involved with the audience, not just staring at his screen. it was awesome! if you can, go to a armin van buuren show - it is a beautiful experience! In Between Limited Double Edition is better

I am a big PVD fan I brought the first CD In between but the Limited Double Edition is better The Berlin Vocal Mix of White Lies is OK (Get the MAXI Single of WHITE LIES it is a lot better). The track that caught my attention the most is HOURS I like the real drum beats mixed with drum machine, I just wish he would put some lryics to it, I hope that PVD would go and remix it I will be the first one to buy that. I also like LET GO with REA GARVEY (get the MAX CD remix it good to).

Bottom line PVD is a genius I like the way he mixes his beats in this album. The only draw back is that it is not a continous mixed CD, otherwise it is a great CD. What I would like for PVD to do is to hook up with NEW AGE ARTIST YANNI and come out with a CD I think that both of them can pull it off. July 18, 2008

Man this one sucks!

I am a huge fan of vocal trance and what people might call dance-trance.
My favorite album is State of Trance 2007 by Armin. I had been a Paul Oakenfold fan since 1998 and it is with sadness that I say that this album sucks, it looks that they were just looking to make a fast buck, not worth not even downloadng it in Ares.
New good cd's are Armin - Imagine, Dj Shah - Songbook (its ok but worth doenloading it), Dave Seaman - Therapy Sessions 4 is a good one July 17, 2008

Must Own Definitve Version Of This Album

I used to be a HUGE PVD fan, but haven't really been able to get into his last 2 albums "Reflections" & "In Between". He's just gotten to be a little too poppy & mainstream for my taste. So when I saw that they'd released a 2 disc "Limited Double Edition" I was more than a little skeptical. Don't get me wrong, "In Between" wasn't horrible; you just had to sit through 5-6 tracks before the album really got going.

I must say after listening to the 2nd disc from this release I'm extremely satisfied with my purchase. The 2nd disc to this special edition really makes up for any short comings on the 1st disc. On the 2nd disc you get 2 remixes of "White Lies" (why that track got so much attention, I have no idea; I think I'd rather listen to finger nails running down a chalkboard, not something I want to hear on a PVD album), & 6 other previously unreleased (to the best of my knowledge)tracks. These 6 tracks are worth the price of the double disc album alone. Why these weren't included on the original release I'll never know. Any one of these 6 FAR surpass any of the tracks on disc one (the original release) & make me remember why it is that I fell in love with PVD's music in the 1st place so many years ago. The best of the 6 are "Torn", "World In My Eyes", & especially "Hours"; but all are good.

I would strongly recommend any self respecting PVD fan to pick up this double disc edition of "In Between". Whether you loved the original version or if you're like me left feeling a bit underwhelmed by his last couple albums you'll love the 2nd disc. I already owned the original & still picked this one up, you should do the same. You'll love it!!! March 4, 2008
