The thin charm of the original mix lay in the use of a sample from Tavares's "It Only Takes a Minute." With that sample removed in the Moto Blanco mix, what's left is a generic dance tune of no particular distinction. Unless you're a fan, don't bother. May 8, 2008

From the sultry sexy cover to the awesome disco flare, this CD single is HOT. JLO may be less successful chart wise these days but is making the best music of her career! April 29, 2008

Considering the record company seems to have opted to throw in the towel on Jennifer's career, it is a treasure to actually have ONE of the remixes featured here in its full remix. Don't understand why it is being released now, months after the single actually came out, and while they were at it, they should have just included the club mix of Do It Well, the second single from Jen's CD, so that diehard collectors could have had all the mixes in one package.

As for Hold it Don't Drop It, It's not the most catchy track, or maybe it's too catchy for its own good. It samples the Tavares classic "It Only Takes a Minute", and while that disco classic had a driving beat, this song sucks all the energy out of the sample by slowing down the tempo. Thankfully the Moto Blanco mix, running a full 8 minutes and 35 seconds, comes pounding in with a disco house beat, pretty much rescuing the song and making it worthy of the dance floor. However, the Tavares sample is pretty removed from this mix! It's still not the best mix (sounds dated, like something you would have heard in the 90s when 70s disco was having a resurgence), but it's better than no remix.
