User Reviews
Average user review:Clearly Jackson Browne is one of America's most important voices in rock music. I liked Volume 1. But Volume 2 doesn't have the same effect. Though Brown'e's sincerity, respect for his audience and ability to connect with us is evident the selections just don't do it for me. May 11, 2008
Jackson at his best again
I purchased both volume one and volume two at the same time and wasn't displeased with either one. If you bought this album and didn't buy volume 1 might I suggest you listen to the free music clips on Amazon, they will probably convince you to buy volume one. Then if you wish you can read my review on volume two that I submitted. This album also has the audience "snip-its" on it and I think you will agree with my review on vol. two concerning them. Bring on another volume.....
I've been a fan of JB since 1972, have just about all of his releases....the Solo Acoustics Vol.1 and 2 have a close, intimate feel and sound to them that are fantastic. I've had the pleasure of seeing he and David Lindley together in an acoustic performance many years ago. These recordings remind me of that night. Can't wait for future Vols. May 9, 2008
Browne is an unceasing pleasure
I have been a Jackson Browne fan since the early 70's. It is a delight to listen to his acoustic renditions of his favorites, and if you can ignore the live audience reactions (NEVER negative, always boisterous), and get into that groove, you want to cheer right along with them. Not only are the acoustic arrangements different in many ways from the studio cuts, but they are somehow more intimate and genuinely relaxing. This is a star turn from a true star! Right on, J.B.!!!!! May 8, 2008
Excellent but too much conversing between songs
I have always been a Jackson Browne fan since his first recording. The only downside is a little too much interaction with the audience and not enough moving into the next song. It seems that almost every song has a contrived intro but if a person can get past that, he is an accomplished singer/songwriter, guitarist and pianist.
I will not hold this against him after penning all those great songs over the years. April 30, 2008
