ASKING FOR FLOWERS by Kathleen Edwards is an excellent CD. Is it country? I don't know. I usually don't like country music. But I love this CD! Thank you Kathleen; I could listen to this CD over and over (and I do!) June 18, 2008

I loved Kathleen Edwards' previous albums, and I was a little concerned that this album wouldn't live up to my expectations. At first listen, my socks weren't knocked off; however, I left in in the CD player in my car and it hasn't been taken out yet...that was a month ago. KE's melodies and lyrics stick in my mind because they are so poignant and affecting. I didn't think it could happen, but I think I might like this album the best of KE's three. May 27, 2008

From top to bottom this record is amazing. If you love great song-writing and great musicianship you will not be disappointed. Kathleen's not going to amaze anybody with vocal gymnastics, but she doesn't have to, she drives the songs perfectly by blending her voice seemlessly with the tracks being laid down by the band.

I bought this without hearing any of the songs, and was almost dreading opening it and playing it thinking it might be a letdown from Failer and Back to Me. But, upon popping it in the CD player I was hooked from the first song.

Take all the time you want Kathleen if you're going to keep making them like this. May 22, 2008

Downloaded this today and just finished giving it a front to back listen. Outstanding. A nice mix of up-tempo tunes and slower more contemplative songs. I love Kathleen's voice- soft when she wants to be, pure, straight up, unaffected.

The last track, "Goodnight, California" is a Neil Young-esque thing of beauty. May 18, 2008
