Common music covered by Slipknot

I am not a hard core Slipknot fan. I have only been to a few of their concerts and pushed/beaten my way to the front.

I felt like what they did with Vol 3 was a step in the right direction and that they would evolve. In my mind, I was thinking they'd have an album that would combine and CUBE what they've already accomplished. Beautiful, brutal, complex, progressive...

Unfortunately, they retread common "metal" territory. If you want to be "anti-establishment" and show how "different" you are, but listen to top 40 rock radio, this album is for you.

I am praying to the gods of metal that there is some juicy material buried in the mix or that comes out when played in reverse. If not, this album is a complete waste to me. I should have bought...just about anything else!! August 31, 2008

4.5 stars to be exact, i'll bump it to a five just for the talent they have

this album will for sure grow on you it takes 2 or 3 spins to get the hang of it so listen to this more than once before you jugde it. by far this is the most different album they have done but still gives you a skilled talently album without blowing it. so check it out. August 31, 2008

appreciate the talent!!!

We all expect great things from slipknot...with that being said, we also need to take time to appreciate their evolution. This album is amazing! But you have to listen it to more than once or even 5 times. Then you will appreciate what they have done. Take the time and listen to their amazing talent to make music.
I don't know about you but every time I have listened to an album once it's easy to say that it doesn't live up to it's expectations, but if you give it a chance you will understand that SLIPKNOT has arrived again!!!
I was skeptical at first, but then I listened to a few times and realized that it ROCKS!!!
All i can say is to give it a chance....then make your decision.
