About Hinder - Take It to the Limit
"Take It To The Limit" is Hinder's much anticipated follow-up album to their breakthrough 3X platinum smash Extreme Behavior. The new CD, Take It To The Limit, was produced by Extreme Behavior producer Brian Howes, Largely credited with reviving the `live fast-play hard' work ethic embodied by many of rock's seminal 1970s bands, Hinder blazed new trails in virtually every music platform the past two years. Their epic 2006 debut album launched three successful singles, including the multi-format #1 smash "Lips Of An Angel," earning a dizzying array of chart-topping honors. The hit song was also recognized as Active Rock Radio's most popular rock single of 2006. Extreme Behavior became a mainstay of the Billboard Top 200 Album charts for nearly a year and a half, endearing them to a diverse array of rock fans as Hinder soared to become one of the most successful grassroots-artist development stories of the decade. The band also conquered the digital and ringtone arenas, becoming the biggest selling rock artist in the history of the mobile formats, reaching a record breaking 3 million in ringtone sales thanks to their rock anthem "Lips Of An Angel," which was the scorching second single from their 2006 debut effort. The multi-format smash seized the #1 spot on both the Top 40 Pop Radio Chart and the Digital Download Chart, putting the Oklahoma fivesome on or near the top of multiple radio, video and digital charts. The across-the-board smash has been certified by the RIAA as the first and only triple platinum Mastertone in rock music history. Album Description

| Not a top 20 Rock Album of 2008 |
2008's top rock album is without a doubt, Chinese Democracry. Hinder covered some GNR between albums with their rendition of Sweet Child O' Mine. This effort isn't very appealing either. Rolling Stone might be interpreted to lead you to believe that Hinder is some sort of 80's saving grace. This could not be farther from reality. The cover gives you the visual introduction to the band's poor aspirations to be seperated, not as the rebellious spirit bands, but as just another act producing their quota album and cashing a check.
Preview some tracks from the mp3 album selection and test it for yourself. This is a terrible choice to spend your hard earned money on. I would recommend another dozen 2008 DVD releases before you work your way around to picking this up. And because it's the giving season... if someone gives you this CD then do not unwrap it. Re-gift it, or take it back to the store and trade it in for Jet Black Stare's 'In This Life.' Some of the reviews point out "Loaded and Alone," which is probably the only song you will remember because the album sticks out in your mind as a purchase you want to be able to justify. Folks buy the .99 song in mp3 from Amazon and save the rest of your dollars.
Your going to be hearing alot about Guns N Roses and how Hinder aspired to be like Axl's band when they had their initial music dreams. Spend your money on the long anticipated Chinese Democracy. The entire album is available on GNR's MSpace page for preview. I'm sure Amazon will carry the companion special edition CD set which is to feature B-sides and demos as well.
"Take it to the Limit" only tests your ability to make it through this album without stopping in the middle and vowing to never play the tracks again. Stream them, borrow a friends, go to Hinder's websites and see what I mean. But, don't waste any hard earned money here. November 23, 2008

| Simply awesome! |
So this brings me to my point; my musical tastes quickly changed to bands like 3 Doors Down, Breaking Benjamin, Pappa Roach, Nickleback, etc. I quickly started buying all sorts of CDs from bands I heard on the local alternative radio station. One of the bands that quickly stood out was Hinder...when ever I heard them I would turn up the radio.
The first time I heard "use me" I thought to myself, this guitar player is rockin' like it was 1985! I'm a guitar player, so I know what I'm talking about when I say this guy is good. This song flat out rocks, as does the entire album. Most alternative music today is based on power chords (no catchy guitar riffs or solos). Hinder seems to break that tradition by using a nice mix of both.
Several reviewers here have compared it to `80s metal; I can somewhat agree, but I would say this is more 2008 rock and roll with some `80s influence (guitar). The drumming and singing is definitely "new" rock, not `80's "double bass and high pitched screaming" (aka Dokken). Too bad Hurricane Ike caused so much damage to the Woodlands Pavilion that Buzz Fest was cancelled...Hinder was playing and was really looking forward to it! (And Pappa Roach).
As for this CD, if you wanna rock this is for you. Just be careful when driving while listening because this will lead to speeding tickets!
